Fans are criticizing the National Football League's promotional teaser video for the 2024 season for missing at least two current NFL stars, despite pop star Taylor Swift appearing five times.
In fact, the video, which was released on Monday to get fans excited for the upcoming football season, almost starts with Swift, as she appears in the third shot just two seconds into the promo.
The video begins with New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but just a second later, Swift is seen on video for the first time jumping up and down and clapping next to her boyfriend Travis Kelcy's mother, Donna, at Arrowhead Stadium.
Swift is featured four more times in the video, including a kiss with Kelce after the Chiefs won the AFC Championship, a shot of her chugging a beer at the Super Bowl, and a quick shot of her entering the stadium in a custom “Kelsey 87” Chiefs jacket.
Meanwhile, fans also noted that neither San Francisco 49ers star quarterback Brock Purdy nor Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow appear in the promotional videos at all. In fact, Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes, arguably the most well-known quarterback currently playing, only appears once to Swift's five.
Many were confused by the NFL's decision to fill the video with Taylor Swift clips while leaving out many of its top players.
This isn't the first time that die-hard NFL fans have called out the NFL for its obsession with Taylor Swift.
Fans repeatedly called out the NFL for using Swift repeatedly last year, with even Travis Kelce saying he thought the NFL was “taking it too far.”
