PORT STREET SEA — On Thursday, the Mets announced their roster for next week’s spring breakout game. There, some of the most promising players play in matches that amount to showcases. Their three most highly rated minor leaguers in the world, Jett Williams, Luisangel Acuña and Drew Gilbert, will rightfully be in the spotlight.
However, the best farming systems tend to be judged on their quantity as well as their quality. The Mets’ recent history is that they’ve been a top team with only a few stars and plenty of prospects.
