Anniversary of Hamas Attack Sparks Controversial Reactions

The second anniversary of the October 7, 2023, attack by Hamas on Israel, which resulted in around 1,200 deaths and the kidnapping of 251 individuals, has once again drawn attention. The day was marked by unsettling celebrations from pro-Palestinian activists around the globe who referred to the invasion as “resistance.”

As Mark Levin points out, there’s often more to the Palestinian cause than it appears at first. He suggests that calls for support are not just aimed at Israel withdrawing from Gaza and the West Bank. Rather, it connects to a larger intent: to destabilize Western values altogether.

“The way Islamists view it, they see Israel and the United States, as well as Europe and countries like Canada and Australia, as one entity. In their eyes, the West needs to be dismantled,” he warns.

Levin further elaborates that modern society is built on Judeo-Christian values rooted in Enlightenment principles, which he believes Islamists do not respect. “Their beliefs date back to the 7th century,” he states.

In his critique of Palestinian claims to Gaza and the West Bank, Levin describes Palestinians as a rebranding of the biblical Philistines, suggesting they are not original inhabitants of the region and have historically been adversaries of the Jewish people.

He shares that the term “Palestinian” was popularized in the 1960s by an Egyptian named Yasser Arafat, who, recognizing the biases of Western media, saw an opportunity to reshape narratives. For activists rallying for Palestinian freedom, Levin interprets their message as an intent to eradicate Israel and its people — and potentially all of Western civilization.

Concerning the implications for the United States, Levin insists that the issue is already evident. He argues that pro-Palestinian demonstrations are spreading, and even in New York City, a candidate he deems as supporting Hamas has been elected as mayor.

Levin identifies a problematic faction within the Democratic Party, notably represented by figures like Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, who he believes will continue to advocate for the Palestinian cause with a detrimental agenda.

“This needs to be challenged consistently, or we risk losing our country. People who believe in American ideals — including Jews, Christians, and adherents of other faiths — are witnessing a decline. It’s happening fast,” Levin laments.
