Whistleblower — Lead Secret Service Agent on Day Trump Was Shot Was Promoted After Failing Key Exam

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Missouri) said a whistleblower alleges that the Secret Service's lead agent on the day former President Donald Trump was shot in the head was promoted despite failing at least one key training exam.

Despite failing the test, disgraced former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle promoted the agent. According to whistleblowers, the agent in question was an officer in the Pittsburgh field office and was an advance officer on the fateful day.

Hawley appeared on Fox News with Jesse Watters on Thursday. Watch the video here:

Holly: The advance guard that day in Pennsylvania, this agent who was in charge of Trump's entire trip through Pennsylvania, when he first joined the Secret Service, failed the training test more than once. So, Jesse, the pattern that's emerged from whistleblowers that have come to me time and time again is that Trump rallies were understaffed… they didn't have people with experience… And now we're hearing that this advance guard may have failed the training test more than once and that they were not top notch. This is absurd. And the fact that the Secretary is not going to be honest with the American people about what's going on here is just unacceptable.

Watters then connected the dots by reminding people that Cheatle had made it a priority to have “30 percent of the Secret Service be women,” which means that if the whistleblower is right, Cheatle left the woman in charge of security for the entirety of Trump's Pennsylvania trip, even after she failed at least one training test.

Hawley further said the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was reportedly “pressuring the Secret Service not to comply.” [our] “Request for Documents”

“There's a cover-up going on,” Watters said. “This is conclusive evidence.”

Yes, that's right.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) is one of the most partisan leftists in Congress. said He told reporters he believed “the American people will be shocked, astonished and appalled by what we report about Secret Service failures in the assassination attempt on a former president.”

“I think they should also be surprised and appalled that Homeland Security has not been more forthcoming with information,” he continued.

Sen. Gary Peters (D-Mich.) told Fox News that an “interim report” will be “coming soon” but that “there is still a lot of information to be found.”

This comes from two Democrats expressing frustration with the Department of Homeland Security and the Secret Service at a time when everything Trump-related has become hyper-partisan.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said the two parties were working together to release a bipartisan report and expressed frustration with acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe for delaying the release of promised information.

“He has promised to provide more information,” Johnson said of Rowe, “but we hope to release this preliminary report before that period of work.”

President Trump was shot in the face on July 13th, just two months ago, and yet, just like then, we know nothing about these egregious security failures.

What I absolutely cannot accept is that the would-be assassin left the roof unprotected, where Trump had a clear view. How “important a test” is it to not understand the threat that roof posed? I have never taken a Secret Service test in my life, but I would have quickly realized that that roof was a potential sniper nest.

It's encouraging to see Democrats taking this seriously — every senator believes he or she will be president one day — so maybe that has something to do with it.
