Whistleblowers Say Secret Service ‘Out of Protocol’ in Second Assassination Attempt

Appearing on FNC's “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Wednesday, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Missouri) said that a whistleblower told him the Secret Service didn't follow protocol during the second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

Hawley noted that the Secret Service had previously provided security for Trump at the golf course and was aware of its vulnerabilities.

“Senator, what are you hearing right now from your staff and people who are talking to you?” host Jesse Watters asked.

“Jesse, here's what we're hearing from a new whistleblower who has come forward about a second assassination attempt on Donald Trump's life,” Hawley responded. “The Secret Service has guarded golf courses where the president has played on numerous occasions, and according to the whistleblower, it is practice for the Secret Service to post agents along vulnerable spots on the courses.”

“I want to emphasize that the Secret Service has guarded this course many times,” he continued. “They know where the vulnerabilities are. They normally have agents there before Trump shows up on the course, but apparently they didn't do that last weekend. The whistleblower told me that's odd, that it's unconventional. It's not even clear that the Secret Service searched the perimeter before Trump showed up on the course… It's a violation, it's unconventional. They want to know why, and I do, and I think the Secret Service is entitled to give us an answer.”
