White House announces new defensive deployments to help Israel

The White House on Thursday announced the deployment of new defense forces to help Israel defend itself against Iran and its proxies.

The brief statement on the matter was released during a recording of a phone call between President Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which was also joined by Vice President Kamala Harris.

The two leaders discussed Israel’s efforts to defend itself against Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah and Yemen’s Houthi rebels.

“The President discussed efforts to support Israel’s defense against threats including ballistic missiles and drones, and also reviewed the deployment of new defensive U.S. forces,” the statement said.

During the call, Biden emphasized continuing efforts to ease broader tensions in the region.
