White House Teases Pop Star Sabrina Carpenter Once More After She Complains About DHS Using Her Song in ICE Video

The White House recently used video of Sabrina Carpenter from NBC’s show Saturday Night Live (SNL) after the singer expressed her disapproval of the Trump administration’s use of one of her songs in an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) video.

“PSA: If you are an illegal criminal, you will be arrested and deported,” the White House posted on Friday.

“Oh, then I’m going to turn myself in,” joked actor Marcello Hernandez, to which Carpenter responded, “You’re under arrest!”

Following this, the White House video transitioned to a montage of ICE agents conducting arrests, set to Gucci Mane’s “I Get the Bag.”

In Carpenter’s original SNL clip from October 18, she quipped, “We might have to arrest someone because it’s too hot.”

In response to the video, Carpenter called it “evil and disgusting” in a Tuesday post.

The White House wrote in their X post, quoting Carpenter’s song, “Have you tried this?” and added, “Bye,” along with a waving emoji and two heart emojis.

In the video, actual lyrics appeared: “I want to try some weird positions, have you ever tried this?” while showing clips of ICE agents chasing and arresting suspects.

The original context of those lyrics refers to various sexual positions in Carpenter’s song.

Though the X post featuring Carpenter’s “Juno” has since been deleted, the reason for its removal remains unclear.

“A short and sweet message to Sabrina Carpenter: We make no apologies for deporting dangerous criminals, illegal murderers, rapists, and pedophiles from our country,” stated White House press secretary Abigail Jackson. This comment was noted by Fox News in response to the singer’s backlash.

Interestingly, Jackson’s mention of “Short and Sweet” relates to Carpenter’s upcoming 2024 album.

The pop star has not yet reacted to the White House’s latest remarks.
