Whitmer reenacts viral trend by feeding podcaster Dorito, drawing criticism from Republicans

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, a Democrat, drew criticism from some Republicans in an Instagram post in which she implanted a Dorito chip in a podcaster's mouth in an attempt to recreate a viral video trend.

This caption praises the CHIPS and Science Act, a bill President Biden will sign into law in 2022 that will provide billions of dollars in incentives to the domestic semiconductor industry and fund scientific research. Introducing the chip in the video.

The caption reads, “Chips aren't just delicious. The CHIPS Act is a game-changer for U.S. technology and manufacturing, increasing domestic production of semiconductors and reducing dependence on foreign suppliers!” Trump will put that at risk.”

But some Republicans don't seem to find the video funny.

Michigan State Senator Aric Nesbitt (Republican) I called it “weird” In a post on social platform X.

“If her goal was to make Kamala Harris look normal, then mission accomplished,” he said. I wrote it in another post.

Michigan Congressman Bill Schuette (R) also responded to the video.

“Yes, but J.D. Vance is a 'weirdo,'” he wrote. Post to Xis referring to the backlash faced by former President Trump's running mate, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance (R).
