Whitney Purvis, known for her role on “16 and Pregnant,” is mourning the loss of her 16-year-old son, Weston.
On Monday, Purvis shared her grief in a heartfelt message on Facebook. “This is very difficult to write,” the 33-year-old former reality star said alongside some photos. “My beautiful son, Weston, has passed away. He was only 16 years old.”
Describing life as “cruel and unfair,” Purvis expressed her disbelief and heartbreak: “I don’t understand. Ah, my baby is gone, and I don’t know what to do with myself. He was so perfect.”
“This is truly my worst nightmare,” she added. “How do you continue life after losing a child? I can’t believe it. This won’t happen. I don’t want it to be real. I would do anything just to hold him. Words can’t explain the pain I’m feeling.”
She ended her message with a touching note to her late son: “I love you so much, Weston Owen Gorsa. God, I love you so much. You are my heart. I was so proud of the young man you were. I cannot continue without you. My angel, you soon disappeared.”
Purvis welcomed Weston with her ex-partner, Weston Gorsa, in April 2009. She did not provide specific details on the circumstances surrounding his death, but Amy Gorsa, Weston’s mother, reported that he “was not breathing” when she tried to wake him up Monday morning at 7 a.m.
After attempts at CPR and calling for an ambulance, paramedics also tried resuscitation but pronounced him dead at a hospital in Gordon County.
Amy described Weston Jr. as a “brilliant, clever, funny” boy who had some health issues, including diabetes. The family is currently waiting for autopsy results. “We are totally heartbroken and shocked. It was very unexpected,” she said.
Weston Jr.’s birth was featured in the first season of “16 and Pregnant.” Five years after the show’s conclusion, Purvis had another son, River, but she has since lost custody of both boys to Weston Gorsa. Recently, Purvis made headlines for her 2024 arrest related to unpaid child support.
