Season 2 of Dutton Ranch Officially Starts Production!
The spin-off of Yellowstone has certainly caught the spotlight. In fact, it quickly climbed to the top of Paramount+’s ratings, drawing in 12.9 million viewers globally within its first week.
This series follows Beth Dutton (played by Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (played by Cole Hauser) as they embark on a new life in South Texas. As the first season wraps up, fans are already buzzing about what might unfold in the upcoming second season.
Although the renewal news came shortly after the show premiered, questions lingered about the direction of the series since the previous showrunner, Chad Feehan, stepped down just before the premiere.
Fortunately, there’s no need to worry about the showrunner situation anymore. While there’s no detailed production schedule available just yet, the Dutton Ranch team can cross “find a new showrunner” off their list. So who’s stepping in?
Who is the New Dutton Ranch Showrunner for Season 2?
According to an exclusive from Hollywood Reporter, Benjamin Cavell has been appointed as the new showrunner for Season 2 of Dutton Ranch.
Cavell brings valuable experience, having previously worked with CBS/Paramount+ as the creator of SEAL Team, which ran for seven years. He also worked on projects like Home Run and The Godfather of Harlem, and even created the series Research Institute based on Stephen King’s novel.
What Happened to Chad Feehan, Dutton Ranch’s Creator and Former Showrunner?
The specifics behind Chad Feehan’s departure remain unclear, as he left just before the show premiered.
Reilly and Hauser, who both star and produce the series, discussed Feehan’s exit in various interviews. Reilly notably stated, “Showrunners change all the time. This business is about adapting. We’ve been doing this for a long time. Things change. People move on.”
When is the Dutton Ranch Finale?
