Whoopi Goldberg Endorses Harris Voters Avoiding Holidays with Trump-Supporting Family — ‘It Might Not Be the Time to Gather’

Whoopi Goldberg told her co-hosts on ABC's “The View” Tuesday that she agrees with Vice President Kamala Harris' voters who want to avoid family members who voted for President-elect Donald Trump over the holidays.

Dr. Amanda Calhoun, Yale University's chief resident in psychiatry, co-chaired a panel discussion about liberals devastated by President Donald Trump's re-election that they should distance themselves from families who voted for him. “I completely understand her point. I think this candidate, you know, President-elect Trump, is a leader in what he has said, what he has done, and what he will do in the future,” said Sunny Hostin. I feel like it's a completely different type of candidate because of his deafness and all that, and I think it's a moral issue for me and I think it's a moral issue for other people as well. I would say it was different when George Bush was elected. You may not have agreed with his policies, but you knew he was a deeply flawed character and morally flawed person. I didn't feel it was there.”

“I appreciate my voters, but anyone who says their child is wrong because of how they feel should not be allowed to be who they are with my permission,” Goldberg said in a statement. I would say, I think so.” I need to doubt that. I don't want to put my child in that position. ”

Furthermore, she added: “Some things don't require putting the family in the middle. We could have dinner somewhere else, but we know it's going to create tension, so it might not be the time to get together.”
