Former Who's the Boss child actor Danny Pintauro was taken to the hospital after a scooter accident on Thanksgiving Day.

Pintauro, who played Jonathan Bower on the hit sitcom, shared a video slideshow on Instagram featuring photos of himself from the hospital, explaining that he underwent emergency surgery to repair a laceration in his stomach. He was injured while riding his scooter on Thanksgiving night, and the bike lane he was in “suddenly got blocked with cones.”

“I had to choose between a van and a pylon,” his post read. “The pylon hurt!! I had a bad scrape on my arm, so I was convinced I had broken it. I felt much better by the next morning, so I wasn't too worried.”

It wasn't until the next day, Saturday, November 30, that he began to feel a “strange chest pain,” which then spread throughout the muscles in his abdomen and shoulders, and the pain was so severe that he “could barely breathe.” ” he said.

Pintauro's husband, Will Tavares, later drove her to the hospital where she underwent multiple tests, which revealed that the accident had torn the lining of her stomach, indicating that it was a “bloodstream infection” and “an air leak.” It was confirmed that the virus had caused an infection. Stomach acid was leaking into my stomach. ”

Ms Pintauro on Sunday described it as “the most excruciating pain I have ever felt in my life” and said the discovery led to “an emergency surgery last night to repair the laceration”.

“The surgery went well and now that I'm healed, the pain has gone away a lot, but it's still very painful,” he said. “They just took out the intubation tube, but they had to leave another tube in my stomach for three days to keep the acid out so as not to damage the sutures and to repair the sutured area. That means I won't be able to eat or eat anything for the next three days. ”

“If I had waited longer, I might have died,” Pintauro said, reflecting on the very real possibility that the situation could have ended very differently for him. He recognized how important it was to listen to his body, explaining, “It was my body that told me something was definitely wrong.”

He went on to thank his “amazing husband” for being by his side through everything, and the doctors and nurses at Memorial Care Miller Hospital for their care.

“Unfortunately, that means the Book Corner I was working on will have to wait a few more days. So I'll change the shipping date to reflect that. I hope it's okay. It's my first major surgery and my first emergency surgery.''It was really scary, as it always has been. ”

he continued. “If someone wants to send me flowers, I wouldn't object. Lol, just kidding. I'm stressed, hungry, in pain, and exhausted. Light a candle for me. Please, okay! They did X – my arm wasn't broken! So there's one bright side!

Pintauro appeared on Who's the Boss from 1984 to 1992, along with Tony Danza, Judith Light, Alyssa Milano and Katherine Helmond, appearing in approximately 200 episodes over eight seasons.
