Why did a powerful veterans’ PAC endorse Harry Dunn, phony ‘hero’ of January 6?

Juan Dominguez, a West Point graduate and Gulf War veteran, is not happy about this. voting veterinarian A political action committee’s decision to endorse former U.S. Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn. Unlike Mr. Dominguez and at least two other candidates in the crowded Democratic primary for Maryland’s 3rd Congressional District, Mr. Dunn is not a military veteran.

VoteVets describes itself as a progressive political action committee that “supports veterans and national security professionals” advocating for “everyday issues that impact the lives of veterans, their families, and our nation.” explains.

“The last thing Democrats need is someone like George Santos running around the Capitol.”

In a phone interview with Blaze Media, Dominguez shared his frustration with VoteVets’ support of non-veterans in Tuesday’s primary election. The cable company executive said he was concerned about “slush money” likely going to more favorable candidates that the Democratic Party establishment believes will be at its mercy.

“In a race with three veterans, two of whom have probably spent far more time in combat zones than I have, I truly believe that VoteVets is just another symptom of the problems we have in this country. I feel that basically untraceable funds are influencing elections,” Dominguez said.

Dominguez said he would not have been upset by losing support to a fellow veteran.

“If that endorsement had gone to Mike Rogers, I would have been happy for it. I would have been happy for Mike. It could have been for Don Quinn, and I would have been happy for Don Quinn. “I guess,” he said. “Instead, they chose the most offensive option, which was…let’s give it to the guy.” [Dunn] Through back channel money, we’ll try to help us win because then he’ll look to us moving forward. That’s the cycle. Politics. ”

Then there’s the fact that Dunn doesn’t even live in the district he allegedly wants to serve. Although it is not illegal for candidates to live outside the district in which they are seeking office, it is generally frowned upon.

“How can someone who doesn’t live in our district know what our schools are like? What are the economic conditions on the ground? What are the most important issues facing you?” Dominguez said. “You can ask some of these questions, but you haven’t lived it. You’ve never coached a sport in this community. You haven’t gone to religious services in this community. I mean, you haven’t coached a sport in this community. The list goes on. Got it?

sunburn Campaign event on April 17th At Eastport United Methodist Church in Annapolis, Dominguez made a cruel offer to Dunn.

“District 3, I live here. My kids go to school here. My family and friends are here, I volunteer here. And here You don’t have to travel from outside your district to campaign,” Dominguez said, glancing at Dunn, who was standing next to her. “If anyone would like to rent my girlfriend’s RV to get to and from the district, please contact me.”

Dirty Harry is at it again

Dunn is the most admired police officer who participated in the January 6, 2021 event. He may be the most famous Capitol Police officer of all time. Dan rose to fame almost immediately after the events of that day. In media interviews, he claimed that the rioters called him the “N-word” “many times.” The corporate media undoubtedly amplified his claims.

Unlike other active-duty Capitol Police officers, Dunn appears to have had complete authority to speak to the media. Dan’s “N-word” story began to evolve. Eventually, as he said, new york times“20, 30, 40, 50 people” surrounded him inside the Capitol, chanting racial slurs.

Next appeared the heroic story of Dan, who was engaged in hand-to-hand combat with the “rebels”. In an interview and in his 2023 book, “Standing my ground: Capitol Police officers’ responsibilities and struggles after January 6th, he claims that he “had to punch” so many rioters that he was left with “bloody fists” by the end of the day. He also said he was sprayed with chemical spray during a fight with protesters.

Dunn’s claims are poorly supported by video evidence obtained by Blaze Media from Parliament House CCTV, police body-worn cameras, and other open source videos.

Despite the yawning lack of evidence surrounding Dunn’s heroic derring-do stories, the media continues to repeat his many fabrications as fact. They ignored Blaze Media articles showing that Dunn lied to a House Select Committee on January 6th and appears to have perjured himself in two trials related to the Oath Keepers seditious conspiracy. They accepted the chronology of events in Dunn’s book at face value.

Instead, the former Capitol Police officer, who never rose above private first class, received numerous recognitions for his heroism on January 6, including the Congressional Gold Medal. Joe Biden even awarded Dan the Presidential Citizens Medal. The medal is the second highest civilian honor and is given to “American citizens who have rendered exemplary service to their country or fellow citizens.”

Dunn left the Capitol Police December 15th Amid speculation that he is planning to run for office. On January 5th, he announced His campaign aims to succeed Rep. John Sarbanes, who left the party in a Democratic-heavy district.

The media may not be interested in Dunn’s big story about January 6th, but they quickly featured him as the only candidate that mattered in a field of 22 candidates. CNN, Associated Press, new york times, rolling stoneand other establishment institutions are promoting his candidacy.

The Democratic establishment is also lining up behind Mr. Dunn.according to Maryland problem, Mr. Dunn’s prominent supporters include former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Representative Jim Clyburn (D.C.).and his campaign war chest The rest of the field will be smaller together.

“Slap in the face”

Dominguez, who graduated from West Point in 1989 and served until 1994, briefly replaced retiring Sen. Ben Cardin before turning to the House of Representatives. By April 1990, a first-generation Cuban-American was overseeing the first unit. A few months later, Iraq invaded Kuwait. “By August, we loaded all our luggage onto ships and planes to go to fight against Saddam Hussein,” Dominguez said.

Dominguez said he has not yet looked into the details of Dunn’s actions on January 6, adding: “I cannot speak to what may or may not have happened that day.”Blaze Media told.

However, he had doubts about Dan’s role. “How did you not get hurt? What if you were in the thick of it, so to speak?” About 140 police officers were injured in the Capitol breach.

Dominguez added, “I think there’s probably an obligation to Democratic primary voters to dig a little deeper into the research and the evidence, because what Democrats need is somebody like George Santos running around the Capitol. I want to avoid that at all costs,” he added. “We know about it.”

Dominguez is uncomfortable with exaggerated stories of heroism. “As a West Point graduate and a Gulf War veteran, I think all veterans feel that their service is what they signed up for and what they did for their country.” he said. “I mean, veterans especially don’t like having words like ‘hero’ thrown around, because we all pretty much did our job, right?”

That’s one reason Dominguez was disgusted by VoteVets’ endorsement of Dunn. This wasn’t the first time the PAC ignored his candidacy.

“When I was running for Senate with David Trone, I couldn’t get VoteVets to return my calls,” he recalled.

“I thought, ‘Why aren’t these people calling me back?’ I’m the only veteran in this race.” Lo and behold, Congressman Tron is one of their biggest backers. It was.”

Tron, co-owner and former president of the Total Wine & More retail chain, donated $100,000 to VoteVets in 2022, according to OpenSecrets.org.

“It’s about power. It’s about greed. And it’s not about doing the right thing in general,” Dominguez added. “And to give Harry Dunn his VoteVets endorsement…and he was a quote-unquote ‘hero’ on his January 6th…this is a tribute to the other veterans who participated in this race. , and I feel it’s a slap in the face to veterans across the country. ”

Dunn may have never served in the military, but his perjury trial testimony helped convict several veterans on criminal charges on January 6, 2021.

Dunn has been endorsed by VoteVets PAC over three actual veterans, which is a double insult to the stated purpose of the group’s mission.

Stay tuned for Blaze Media’s upcoming mini-documentary “A Day in the Life of Harry Dunn.” This documentary reveals the most egregious contradictions in his writings and trial testimony. All backed up by his CCTV video evidence from Parliament House.
