Billionaire Elon Musk joined President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday at the annual America First Institute Gala at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.
Musk, who was recently tapped to co-lead the incoming Trump administration's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), told an audience Thursday that his role is not just about business, but about a “revolution” in America.
“As President Trump said, what we need is common sense,” Musk told attendees at Mar-a-Lago. “This is not going to be business as usual. This is going to be a revolution.”
Musk will lead the efficiency division alongside former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. Their role is aimed at eliminating trillions of dollars of “waste and fraud” within the federal government.
“Importantly, we must eradicate the enormous waste and fraud that exists across the $6.5 trillion in annual government spending. They must work together to free up our economy and encourage the U.S. government to 'WE THE PEOPLE,” President Trump said when announcing his intention to appoint them as DOGE leaders.

Musk, the owner of X and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has been part of Trump's campaign in the White House and attended several rallies before the election.
Trump said Musk and Ramaswamy would help “dismantle government bureaucracy, reduce excessive regulation, cut wasteful spending and reorganize federal agencies.”
The president-elect said Musk and Ramaswamy will “provide advice and guidance from outside the government, partner with the White House and the Office of Management and Budget to drive major structural reforms, and launch unprecedented government initiatives.” It creates a homely approach,” he added. ”
