Why hasn’t she introduced any laws?

Tom Homan, known as the “border emperor” during the Trump administration, recently criticized Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez from New York. This exchange came after Homan answered questions regarding potential investigations by the Department of Justice (DOJ) relating to immigrants and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

When asked about Ocasio-Cortez’s comments on not having heard from the DOJ regarding any investigation, Homan suggested that she should check with the department herself.

So far, the DOJ has not addressed previous related inquiries. Homan went on to express his frustrations, stating, “I want her to do her job. She’s a lawmaker, right? Why isn’t she passing legislation to improve this country like President Trump?”

He asserted that the borders are secure and noted an increase in arrests of criminals during Biden’s term. “We are at work. She should try doing hers,” he remarked.

Homan had previously agreed with the notion that Democrats, who had been accused of storming an ICE facility in Newark, New Jersey, should face consequences. When asked about Ocasio-Cortez’s specific warnings, he laughed and seemed dismissive.

Meanwhile, he was at Capitol Hill to address a House GOP group on immigration and border issues, having been invited by Chairman August Pfluger of Texas.

Earlier this week, three New Jersey Democrats, including Coleman, Menendez, and McQuider, joined protesters outside the Delaney Hall Detention Center. Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was notably arrested during these demonstrations.

In response to Ocasio-Cortez’s remarks about her free speech rights, Homan responded humorously, suggesting that she might be in trouble due to her actions. The ongoing debate reflects tensions, as Democrats assert their right to advocate for federal employees while Republicans explore potential consequences.
