Why Is Everyone So Lustful Here? GOP Representative Involved in Groping Allegations Urges Colleagues to 'Seek Jesus'

On Thursday, Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert questioned her colleagues’ enthusiasm outside the U.S. Capitol, following the resignations of two former members of Congress. Her inquiry came just days after former Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell and former Republican Rep. Tony Gonzalez stepped down amid allegations of sexual misconduct.

Boebert commented that her peers should perhaps attend church and “find Jesus.” Interestingly, she herself had faced scrutiny earlier in 2023, related to a public incident involving her then-boyfriend. “Yes, go to church. Find Jesus. Why is everyone so excited here?” she remarked to reporters before exiting.

In September 2023, Boebert found herself in legal trouble as she was accused of molestation during an outing at a theater in Denver, Colorado. Surveillance footage allegedly showed inappropriate behavior between her and her boyfriend, who was named as Quinn Gallagher. She stated that she takes full responsibility for the incident and has no plans to continue the relationship.

“It’s always hard when gravity is on the electorate. I’m here to provide lightness to people and take away their burdens, so whenever they’re carrying mine, I feel it deep inside,” she expressed to the media, also noting that she would be cancelling future dates.

Swalwell announced his resignation amid growing pressure from multiple sexual misconduct allegations. One woman claimed that he initiated intimate contact without her consent. Gonzalez also revealed his decision to leave Congress, following an investigation by the House Ethics Committee regarding claims of misconduct involving staff and potential favoritism in his office.
