With his Yankees' future in the air, social media detectives recently noticed that Marcus Stroman scrubed the Yankees from his Instagram account and unlocked the team's official page.
Manager Aaron Boone has an explanation.
“Unfollow was actually a standard scrub that he actually was a very accidental,” Boone told Post's Joel Sherman and John Heyman. “The Show” podcast.
But Boone has not moved away from the fact that if the Yankees are healthy, Stroman doesn't play a clear role in the team. He will pitch 140 innings this season.
The Yankees have yet to find trading partners, but the moving stroman will allow them to reach the highest luxury tax threshold.
“For me, he's in a really good place,” Boone said of Stroman on the podcast. “What it is, it's the situation. There was clearly a lot of noise around it. On one level, I'm sure he'll hear it and get it. I'm very good talking with him. I did… he and I have a very good relationship. He feels like he is in a good mental place. He feels physically ready to go.
“Acknowledging that there is some clumsiness, where is he in the slot? The reality is that I'm ready to go to him. We're ready to start him I'm going to. We're far away from now, and it's opening day.”
The 33-year-old Stroman had a 2.60 ERA through his first 12 starts from the Yanks last season, but his 4.46 fielding independent pitching (FIP) has made him much of a helping hand. It suggests.

In his final 18 appearances (starting 17), Stromann had a 4.75 FIP and an ERA of 5.70.
He lost to the Dodgers in five games as he didn't make the playoffs in the Yankees' run to the World Series.
