Wife of US missionary charged in husband’s killing, accused of masterminding murder plot in Africa with security guard lover

According to his church, the wife of an American missionary murdered in Africa was “officially charged as co-author of the murder.” The wife is accused of masterminding her guard's lover and murder group.

Beau Shroyer, 44, from Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, moved his wife and five children to Angola in 2021 to missionary work.

Schroyer, a former Detroit Lake police officer, reportedly died on October 25, 2024, in the southern Angola town of Tienjo. Angola police said the man in the rental car pretended to have a car problem remotely. Schroyer is said to have tried to help the man, but he was stabbed to death.

KSTP-TV Shroyer reported that he was arrested in November 2024.

Citing Angolan officials, the outlet reported that Elias asked Kayu to carry out the murder of Beau Schroyer in exchange for $50,000.

“We must respect God and love each other by how we communicate about this,” Easton said.

According to Lake Vineyard Church, five Schroyer children (ages 9 to 17) have been returned to the United States to be with their families.
