Will Howard goes viral for rough NFL combine showing; Shedeur Sanders responds

When the team evaluates all the small character traits and finds out whether college athletes are the first round NFL draft pick, Shedale Sanders is about to show leadership.

Colorado quarterback Sanders is one of four players rumored to be in the mix in next month's draft and has come to the defense of Ohio quarterback Wil Howard.

“I don't know that all those who hate @whoward_he have won natty.” Sanders tweeted Sunday. “It's hard to throw at WR something you don't know, that everyone is taking a different route!”

Sanders' leadership is occasionally scrutinized during this draft process, and Dion Sanders' son occasionally questions his teammates.

One tweet isn't going to shake up the team's opinion on him, but it was a notable response to decide who player to draft, if Titan maintains the overall pick in first place.

Miami quarterback Camward, Colorado's two-way Phenom Travis Hunter Jr. and Pennsylvania State Pass Rush Abdul Carter are three other players rumored to be running on the first pick.

Word is the betting favorite in multiple sportsbooks that are first selected.

Sanders Tweets Sunday night supported Howard. Despite winning the national title, Howard is not considered a solid outlook, and will likely be his third day project.

A clip of Howard's disastrous performance went viral on Saturday and Sunday. “Worst combine performance ever?” thanks to a 46-second receiver cut-up with seven throws with captions.

Howard threw too far in front of one receiver, too far behind another, too expensive for one, and did some airmails in a poor show.

What's good for Howard is that the combine doesn't always reflect the ceiling of players, and as Sanders pointed out, these receivers are not the elite playmakers he threw in Ohio.

Unfamiliar with receivers is one reason why top quarterbacks often choose to throw a combined with Sanders and Ward, who are skipping it this year.

This year's quarterback class, headlined by Ward and Sanders, is considered a weaker group, especially compared to last year's crop, where six players were drafted in the first round.

Sanders is linked to the Giants, Titans, Browns, Raiders and Jetto people, all being selected in the top seven.

The NFL Draft begins on April 24th and runs until April 26th.
