Will Smith Accused of Using AI in Concert Video
Will Smith is under scrutiny for allegedly employing artificial intelligence to create crowd scenes in videos shared on social media.
The 56-year-old entertainer recently uploaded a YouTube video that purportedly featured highlights from his tour. However, some sharp-eyed fans quickly pointed out inconsistencies in the footage.
In the video, he appeared to be performing to a packed audience during his tour.
Smith showcased a clip featuring his song “You Can Make It,” with fans seen singing along and holding signs. “My favorite part of the tour is seeing you nearby,” he noted in a brief caption on his social media accounts. “Thank you for meeting me too.”
Fans quickly raised concerns, suggesting that the video was manipulated using AI technology. One user quipped, “What a shame for someone so rich and famous to resort to AI footage and robot comments.”
Another comment highlighted a sign in the crowd: “West Philly to West Swiggy,” while a different user pointed out, “Someone in the audience had a moving arm.” Such observations led to speculation about the authenticity of the crowd interaction.
One follower even remarked on Smith’s uncharacteristic reliance on such tactics: “It’s embarrassing, and the AI crowd feels artificial as well.”
Despite the backlash, representatives from Will Smith, as well as Meta and YouTube, have not yet responded to requests for clarification.
Smith kicked off his “Story Story-based” tour in June, promoting his fifth studio album, which made its debut in March 2025. This album marked a significant comeback for him, 20 years after releasing “Lost and Found” in 2005.
