when Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love sprained his MCL in Week 1 and was thought to potentially miss a month or so, but he only missed one game and the Packers are keeping a close eye on Love heading into their Week 3 matchup. Tennessee TitansThe Packers quarterback was officially listed as questionable on Friday.
According to The Athletic's Dianna Russini:The Packers know if Love will play Sunday but won't give details lest the Titans know who their starting center will be. Rassini noted Love is developing faster than expected and will be given a chance to play after missing just one game.
Before the injury Philadelphia Eagles Love had a stellar game in Brazil, throwing for 260 yards and two touchdowns with just one interception. The Packers won last week with Malik Willis starting. If Willis starts again on Sunday, it will be a revenge game against the team that drafted him.
Jordan Love's injury status
Love's availability has already been determined for the Packers' Week 3 game against the Titans, but an official announcement will have to wait until Sunday. Love has practiced this week but was limited. On Friday, running back Josh Jacobs said of Love:“He seemed OK. He had restrictions but he seemed OK,” Jacobs said, adding that if the use of the word “restrictions” had been highlighted during this week's meeting, “I don't know anything about it!”
How Jordan Love's injury will impact fantasy football
If Love plays against the Titans, he won't be 100%. Not only will he not be 100% but the Titans defense has been tough to begin the season. They held Caleb Williams to 93 yards in Week 1 and Aaron Rodgers to just 176 yards last week. That defense will be very tough on Love if he returns.
Whether Love or Willis is under center, Josh Jacobs will continue to be heavily involved in the offense. Jacobs was RB23 last week but put up a solid 13.1 points per game. Jacobs will continue to play like a solid RB2 this week. There should be enough going in for the Packers running backs to put up three straight solid performances.
In Week 1 with Love under center, Jaden Reed scored 33.1 points in PPR and was the WR1 for the week, but last Sunday against the Colts he was the WR53. Love brings some upside to Reed, but the Packers wide receiver may be better suited as a flex player this week at best. Even if Love plays, he won't be at 100%. Love's injury, combined with a historically tough Titans defense, makes it not a favorable matchup for Reed. With Willis as the opponent, the Packers will rely heavily on Jacobs, who will be someone all of the Packers' pass-catching players should avoid.
