Wisconsin Boy’s Success Story Highlights Support from Boys & Girls Clubs
Bex, an 11-year-old from Wisconsin, exemplifies how supportive environments can help children reach their full potential. This idea underpins the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s new campaign, America Needs Club Kids.
A budding sports broadcaster, Bex hosts his own show, manages a media brand, interviews professional athletes, co-hosts important events, and reports on the Green Bay Packers for local radio.
During his appearance on Giving Tuesday with Fox & Friends, he acknowledged the crucial role the Boys & Girls Clubs played in providing him with the support and resources necessary to chase his passions.
“I really love the kids at the Boys & Girls Clubs. They have leadership programs—like Torch Club—that teach you to stand up for yourself. There are so many great opportunities,” he shared.

Alongside his media endeavors, Bex is part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s 2025 National Youth Talent Team. He has also signed with a talent agency and is taking classes in improvisation and acting to refine his skills.
Bex mentioned that the Boys & Girls Club was instrumental in launching his podcast, Shortz on Sportz, helping him with everything from brainstorming the idea to organizing travel and setting up interviews.
His journey into broadcasting actually stemmed from a school project which focused on a Packers player, Jonathan Owens. Bex reflected, “He’s really a learner, a leader, and a philanthropist in the community.”
Support for the Community
He recounted an experience where a Packers player visited the Green Bay Boys & Girls Club to distribute turkeys. This sparked the idea for an interview, which, at first, seemed like just a school assignment. Yet Bex soon realized his talent and enthusiasm for podcasting, which led him to cover many events, for which he feels immensely grateful.
The America Needs Club Kids campaign aims to support children like Bex in becoming the next generation of leaders.
Jim Clark, the CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, emphasized that stories like Bex’s epitomize the organization’s mission. He encouraged viewers of Fox & Friends to invest in the future of America’s youth, declaring, “This is America’s future. We have future doctors, scientists, drone pilots, and television newscasters.”
Clark invited those interested to visit BGCA.org, mentioning that this year, they are encouraging individuals to bring two friends or family members to help make a strategic investment in Boys & Girls Clubs, emphasizing the importance of supporting Club Kids.
For over 165 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs have been a staple in American communities, with 5,500 clubs in operation nationwide, including on military bases. They offer support to more than 4 million youths each year, helping them thrive both academically and personally.
