Incident at Metropolitan Police Station
A woman was filmed attacking a police officer at the Metropolitan Police Station (MPD), and the event prompted swift action, as seen in a video shared on X.
In a recent announcement, President Donald Trump declared the deployment of the National Guard and a federal intervention at the MPD to combat crime in the district. This came shortly after an incident where the woman was seen running towards an MPD officer and seemingly striking him. A video from Right Angle News Network captures the moment, showing another officer quickly apprehending the assailant while bystanders were instructed to move back.
Johnine Piro, a lawyer for the District of Columbia, previously warned about the consequences of such actions. In her post on X, she mentioned that the individual who attacked the officer was charged, alongside another person who had reportedly thrown a subway sandwich at an officer.

Piro commented in a video that the president’s message to criminals was clear: “If you spit, we will hit back.” She recounted an incident where an individual approached a federal officer, yelling and physically confronting him. She noted that this person even threw a subway sandwich at the officer. Piro added that while it may have seemed amusing to the individual at the time, he faces felony charges following the attack on the police.
In an unrelated incident, Eric Tarpinian Yachim, an intern for Kansas Republican Rep. Ron Estes, was tragically shot on June 30th. Earlier in May, two employees of the Israeli Embassy were also killed in a shooting attributed to Prohama activists.
This situation comes amidst conflicting reports on crime statistics. Certain claims from Democrats assert that violent crime has dropped by about a third, despite MPD data indicating a rise in aggravated assaults and felony assaults. Michael Pulliam, an MPD official, has been suspended amid allegations of manipulating crime statistics, according to NBC Washington.
Piro has not responded to requests for further comment regarding the situation.
