Tragic Discovery in Los Angeles
A woman caring for a baby girl expressed her inability to forgive the child’s mother after a horrifying find. The baby’s body was discovered carelessly discarded, raising both shock and anger.
A bystander initially thought the lifeless form wrapped in a blanket was a doll when she noticed it in a dumpster near Holmes Avenue Elementary School in Los Angeles, California.
“I have no love for her. Why? Because she showed no love for that innocent baby. I feel nothing for her,” the woman stated.
This grim discovery was reported to the police just after 10:30 p.m. on a Monday evening.
“Someone was dumping trash and, well, they ended up seeing the body and called 911,” explained Lieutenant Dave Hoskins from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Juvenile Division.
Emergency responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department took the child to a hospital, where she was sadly pronounced dead.
Authorities apprehended a woman afterward but did not confirm if she was the mother of the child, according to KTLA-TV.
The woman who found the baby detailed to KTLA that the infant was dressed in gloves and shorts.
An upset couple identified as foster parents of the baby’s mother shared that the child wore gloves to prevent scratching.
Herman Johnson and Laura Lacy recounted that their foster daughter changed her story multiple times that day, initially claiming she had the baby before later stating that the father was responsible for the girl.
“She just seemed off,” Johnson remarked. “Whenever she used to call me to take care of the baby, it felt strange. She couldn’t manage her, so Laura and I took her in at just two weeks old. We’ve had her ever since.”
Lacy expressed her profound disappointment with their foster daughter, stating, “I have no love for her. Why? Because she had no love for that innocent baby. I don’t feel anything for her.” Her voice trembled with emotion as she continued, “I care about her and still need to understand why this happened. What was the issue? You could have avoided this. I was there for your child, taking care of her as family, right?”
