Woman Finds Sheep Alive After L.A. Fires

A California woman was overjoyed to learn that her flock of sheep survived the devastating Palisades Fire.

A woman named Vanessa captured the moment she spotted several sheep in the aftermath of the fire. ParadePets.com reported on wednesday.

Her voice can be heard in the clip crying As the sheep approached her. “Hello, honey. Hello, baby,” she said to one of the animals. “The firefighters fed you,” she added through tears.

She then asks the sheep how they survived and says, “Thank you, God. Thank you, God. I'll come tomorrow and get you all out of here, okay? I'm so sorry I couldn't find you.”

The sheep appeared to be unharmed, and Vanessa told them, “You are warriors,” and gently stroked them while sniffing at the camera.

“I'm very happy. I'm very happy,” says Vanessa. “Baby, I'm so happy. Thank you, God.”

Friday, social media user Monique Ganderton share Another clip of firefighters feeding Vanessa's sheep.

“Justin and Fire Department 15 and 70!!!!! Thank you so much for taking care of Vanessa and the babies!!!” she wrote in the caption. Later in the clip, Vanessa catches up with the firefighters and appears to thank them for taking care of her beloved animals.

“They're alive now and eating apples,” one of the crew members told her.

In another social media post earlier this week, Ganderton said said“My wonderful friend Vanessa and her family lost everything in this fire. The parents of two autistic children live on a small family farm.”

“I was in tears when she sent me this video. She was devastated to have to leave behind her baby sheep. She was full of love for animals, family and community. Vanessa is truly an inspiration. She has been there for me many times over the years, including during the Woolsey Fire. I will miss her family so much. , the outpouring of love and support for her is truly amazing,” Ganderton added.

The Eaton and Palisades fires have burned about four square miles of Los Angeles, according to an analysis, the Associated Press reported Saturday.
