A twisted and creepy man chased a woman through the woods, pulled out a gun and tied her to a tree near the famous Pebble Beach golf course as police continued to search for the suspect with the tattoo on his neck.
On Wednesday morning, hikers found a woman unharmed after loud cries were heard coming from a wooded area surrounded by famous country clubs and large wealthy homes on California's Monterey Peninsula. According to SF Gate.
Two good Samaritans freed the woman and alerted authorities, the newspaper said.
The victim told Monterey County Sheriff's Office investigators that he was hiking around 7:30 a.m. when he noticed a suspicious man following him.
He then pulled out a gun and tied her to a tree in a secluded area off a trail through the Monterey woods, the sheriff's office said. He then left without causing any further harm to the victim.
The woman told investigators that the man had a distinctive tattoo of the letter “Z” on his neck.
The victim was found safely and was not robbed while being tied up by the assailant.
The Monterey County Sheriff's Office said the man appeared to be in his 30s and had a distinctive tattoo on his neck that appeared to be a word starting with “Z.”
Police say the man does not pose an active threat to the community.
According to Golf Digest, the sites where the women were found rank 3rd, 12th and 67th in the nation, including wealthy mansions, legendary Spyglass Hill, Pebble Beach and Cypress Point Course. It is located in an area that is lined with famous golf courses, including the golf course.
Investigation is ongoing.
