Woman interrupts Charlie Kirk vigil, pushes organizer in Florida arrest

Incident at Village Magazine Event Leads to Arrest

During an event organized by the Village Magazine Club, a conservative activist, Charlie Kirk, was at the center of a chaotic scene. Reports indicate that a 73-year-old event organizer was pushed to the ground, prompting a felony arrest.

The confrontation involved Courtney Beth Anderson, 56, who attended the gathering in a Central Florida retirement community known as the “Friendly Home of America.” Arrest records note that she reacted aggressively, reportedly “screaming and flipping off” attendees at the event.

Valerie Jamieson, a co-founder of the Village Magazine Club, confronted Anderson about her behavior, expressing her anger and asking her to leave. Jamieson explained how she approached Anderson, saying, “You’re not welcome here, you need to get out.” Witnesses have described the incident as “unprovoked,” and the village fire department was called in to assist.

After the altercation, Anderson refused to speak to officers and sought advice instead. Following her arrest, she was released on bond and now faces charges of felony battery against someone over 65. Notably, she has two prior convictions for misdemeanor battery dating back to June 2001.

This incident occurs within a broader context of unrest, coinciding with a series of protests at an event honoring Kirk, who was recently assassinated in Utah at a Turning Point USA gathering.

Kirk had often spoken about the importance of respectful dialogue, warning that a lack of communication can lead to violence. He noted, “When people stop talking, that’s when violence happens,” emphasizing the need for respectful discourse to prevent conflict.

The retirement community, significant in size, has hosted prominent figures like former President Donald Trump, attracting considerable attention and support. While it boasts a “Democratic Club,” membership tends to be much smaller compared to its Republican counterpart.
