Tragic Murder of Jamie Carney in Ireland
Jamie Carney, a 43-year-old mother originally from New York, was tragically found murdered in her home in Killarney, County Kerry, early Tuesday morning. The suspect in her death, her boyfriend who is an Arab immigrant, has fled the scene and remains at large.
According to reports, Carney’s 13-year-old daughter discovered her mother’s body, reportedly hidden under the duvet. Authorities say that Jamie had suffered severe head injuries, and there was evidence of a loud argument the night before.
Following the incident, the suspected killer took a 3 a.m. bus from the area, caught a flight from Dublin, and arrived in Turkey. Sources have indicated that the suspect might be trying to make his way to Jordan or Syria, raising concerns among the police about his potential to vanish entirely, as Turkey is known for being a place where people often go missing.
The suspect, identified as Ahmad Alsakker, is a 28-year-old who sought asylum in Ireland in 2024. Jamie Carney, who began living in Ireland in 2021, met Alsakker about a year and a half ago during a pro-Palestinian protest. At the time of this report, Alsakker’s exact origins are unclear, although his last name is common in several Middle Eastern countries.
Carney appeared to have strong pro-Palestinian views, and this was reflected in her social media presence. Her Instagram profile showcased support for Palestine and featured posts that hinted at an intimate relationship with Alsakker. Photos revealed moments together, often draped in traditional Arabic scarves, pointing to their shared sentiments.
In her final post on Independence Day, she shared an AI-generated image of herself and her partner against a Times Square backdrop, wishing everyone a happy birthday. Just weeks prior, another post featured Carney and Alsakker with a Palestinian flag, accompanied by an optimistic phrase implying future plans “if Allah wills.”
