Woman reportedly loses her temper at gym and throws a 25-pound weight at another woman amid a possible love triangle.

Woman reportedly loses her temper at gym and throws a 25-pound weight at another woman amid a possible love triangle.

Earlier this month, tensions escalated when a 25-year-old woman reportedly became furious after seeing another woman she believed was involved with her boyfriend at a 24-hour gym in Texas.

According to deputies from the 4th Precinct’s patrol office, Alalynn Martinez picked up a 25-pound weight plate and aimed it at another gym-goer during the spring. The gym is located approximately 30 minutes north of Houston, in Spring.

Video footage examined by investigators revealed Martinez threatening to drop the weight before actually throwing it at the other woman’s head.

Fortunately, that woman managed to dodge the incoming weight just in time, escaping serious injury.

Lt. Juan Flores from the 4th Precinct mentioned that other patrons at the gym intervened and defused the situation before it spiraled out of control.

Reporters noted that Martinez fled the gym right after the incident, but she was subsequently arrested.

Martinez faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which is classified as a felony. The authorities noted that she was released after posting a $1,000 bond.

One of the conditions of her bail stipulates that she must keep at least 200 feet away from the home or workplace of the woman involved. It’s also been stated that neither woman knew each other prior to this confrontation.

Flores commented on the case, sharing, “I don’t usually do weight training, and I don’t often encounter situations like this.” He added that any weight, even as light as 25 pounds, can become a lethal weapon depending on where it strikes a person.

Commenters on a local news channel’s video about the incident expressed disbelief about the bail amount, questioning the justice system’s handling of such cases.

  • One commenter remarked, “That bond seems absurdly low,” pointing out that “the court doesn’t seem to value human life if someone can try to kill someone and get away with just this.”
  • Another questioned, “So she gets a $1,000 bail despite potentially causing serious harm?”
  • Someone else added, “It only costs $1,000 for her to try again.”
  • A user suggested, “Maybe we should examine the emotional struggles affecting people like her.”
  • Lastly, another quipped about the situation, humorously noting that the boyfriend and the alleged victim “are now having a date night from behind bars.”
