Indiana Teacher Pleads Guilty to Child Sex Crimes

A former Christian school teacher in Indiana has faced consequences after admitting guilt in a child sex crimes case involving students, according to court records.

Twenty-four-year-old Torrey Lemon pleaded guilty to a felony charge of child enticement last Thursday in Hamilton County. He was sentenced to 40 days in prison along with around four years of probation.

Authorities began investigating Lemon in April 2025. He was alleged to have engaged in sexual acts with a student while supervising a school trip in South Carolina.

According to court documents, a friend of the victim reportedly borrowed the victim’s phone and discovered sexual text messages between Lemon and the victim. This was later relayed to a teacher.

Furthermore, another student informed a teacher after stumbling upon a video of Lemon and the victim kissing on the victim’s phone. This ultimately led to the teacher seizing the phone, alerting the victim’s parents, and filing a report with law enforcement and child services.

During interviews with the Greenville Police Department, the victim described her relationship with Lemon as inappropriate. Lemon admitted to having had this improper relationship for several months during questioning with the authorities.

School officials quickly acted, returning Lemon home from the South Carolina trip while the victim’s parents picked her up.

In a testimony, the victim stated that she and Lemon were just friends initially, but the relationship took a different turn when he made suggestive jokes and expressed his attraction to her.

She even noted that they had a sexual relationship in March of that year, despite understanding that such a relationship was against her beliefs and the law.

Eventually, after Lemon’s confessed inappropriate actions, he was terminated from his teaching position in June 2025. In a conversation with a school principal, he elaborated on how the relationship escalated from hugs to more serious sexual conduct.

Although the police could not recover many deleted messages from the victim’s phone, some communications were retrieved, including affectionate notes and acknowledgments of their physical encounters.

Lemon was arrested in Hamilton County that June and entered a guilty plea to child enticement charges. He also faces two additional charges related to the same investigation from Marion County. Lemon was booked into jail in November 2025 but was released later that day on a bond.

He is expected to appear in Marion County Court soon for further sentencing. As of now, neither the prosecutor’s office, the police department, nor the school has provided comments on the case.
