A Florida woman who was in the Big Apple to visit her sister disappeared in broad daylight Monday after fleeing from the back of an ambulance while wearing scrubs, police officials said.
Jocilne Garrido, 40, of Kissimmee, jumped from a private ambulance that was stopped in traffic while being taken from Weill Cornell Medical Center on the Upper East Side to White Plains Hospital, officials said. spoke.
Police said Garrido, who was wearing a blue scrub top and gray sweatpants, fled around 12:30 p.m. and has not been seen since.
Officials said Garrido was visiting his sister in the city, but it was unclear why he sought treatment.
She is described as a Hispanic female with fair skin, brown hair, brown eyes, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and 150 pounds.
The NYPD released a photo of her Monday night.
