Woman who accused Jay-Z and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs of rape drops case | Jay-Z

An anonymous woman who accused Sean “Jay Z” Carter and Sean “Diddy” Combs of raping her in 2000 when she was 13 years old, dismissed her civil lawsuit against hip-hop mogul on Friday I did.

The Manhattan federal court filing said the plaintiff, known as Jane Daw, voluntarily dismissed the case on prejudice.

Tony Buzby, the female lawyer, declined to comment.

Combs is located in Brooklyn Jail and awaits a May 5 criminal trial, scheduled for May 5th.

He is still facing dozens of other civil lawsuits by women and men, including many people represented by Buzby's company who accused him of sexual assault and other misconduct.

combs pleaded not guilty to criminal cases and maintained his innocence in all cases.

The DOE case was the only case that nominated Carter as a defendant, and he had vocally denied the woman's allegations.

“Today is a victory,” Carter said in a statement posted online by his entertainment company Roc Nation. “A frivolous, fictional, and appalling allegation has been dismissed. There is no merit in this civil lawsuit and I will not go anywhere.”

Carter said the incident also caused trauma to his wife Beyoncé and her children.

In a joint statement, Combs' lawyers alleged that none of their clients had sexually assaulted or trafficked them.

“We will continue to fight these unfounded claims and hold them accountable,” the lawyer said. “This is the first of many that won't hold up in court.”

Doe had accused Carter and Combs of raping her at an afterparty following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.

She said the alleged incident led to post-traumatic stress disorder, causing depression that she “mainly withdraws from society.”
