Woman who recorded the Astronomer CEO and HR head at the Coldplay concert 'regrets'

Attendees at a Coldplay concert who shared a viral video featuring the CEO of a tech firm interacting with an HR director during a “Kisscam” said they felt conflicted about broadcasting what happened. They suggested that the couple was responsible for their own actions.

“I had no clue who they were,” Grace Springer recounted. “I thought the reaction to the kisscam was pretty interesting and decided to share it.”

She added, “It does make me a bit uneasy to potentially upset these people’s lives, but they’re playing a foolish game… and sometimes you win a foolish prize.”

Andy Byron, the CEO of the tech company Astronomer, is currently under investigation after he was seen with his arm around HR head Kristin Cabot during the concert.

Springer filmed the moment when the couple, caught on the concert’s large screen, abruptly stopped their display of affection and tried to conceal their faces. Frontman Chris Martin later joked about the situation, speculating if they were either cheating or just extremely shy.

The company released a statement following the incident, emphasizing that they uphold strong values and expect their leaders to exemplify those principles. “A formal investigation has been initiated, and more information will be made available soon,” they noted.

Later on, the company mentioned that Byron was on leave. “Pete DeJoy, our co-founder and Chief Product Officer, is stepping in as interim CEO,” they shared.

Byron appears to still be married, with no divorce records available. Cabot, however, finalized her divorce in 2022 after filing in 2018.

Reflecting on the situation, Springer expressed hope for the couple involved. “I truly hope their partners can find healing and happiness moving forward,” she stated, adding that she feels her video might have been a blessing of sorts.

She mentioned that after the concert, the moment became a hot topic, but nobody knew the couple’s identities until she shared the footage. “When I posted it late at night, it started gaining traction. I woke up to it hitting 7 million views and now it’s over 30 million. I’m honestly a bit overwhelmed.”
