The Clark County Sheriff’s Office announced that a friend of a Washington woman’s husband has been arrested in connection with her murder, and that her husband is suspected of preparing the murder and plotting the robbery.
Just before 7 p.m. on March 23, deputies responded to a home in Hockinson, Wash., after receiving a report of a woman suffering from gunshot wounds when her husband and two friends arrived at the home. I was dispatched.
Deputies said the woman, later identified as Lindy Rummel, 60, of Brush Prairie, Wash., was dead by the time they arrived at the scene.
A truck, described as a black 2001 Ford F-150 with Washington state plates, was stolen from the scene and it is believed the woman’s killer took the vehicle, authorities said. .

Lindy’s death was initially reported as the result of an apparent home invasion and robbery. However, on March 24, investigators reported that they had received information about a possible murder suspect after the investigation began.
Deputies said the information led to the arrest of Darrell Riley, 55, by Eugene Police in Eugene, Oregon. A stolen truck was found in Oregon and set on fire in what authorities say was likely an attempt to destroy evidence of a murder.
According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation revealed that Riley was a friend of the deceased woman’s husband, James Rummell.

The investigation revealed that Rammell drove to Eugene the day before the murder to pick up Riley and take her to Clark County.
Ramel was arrested on suspicion of making false statements to a public servant after a search warrant was served on his home, according to deputies.
Officials said they found evidence they believe James Rummell may have asked Riley to commit the robbery attempt to kill Lindy Rummell.
Riley is being held on a preliminary felony warrant for first-degree murder. He remains in custody in Oregon while the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office seeks extradition.
