Woman’s sandwich sabotage of her husband goes viral on Reddit

A woman's Reddit confession that she gaslighted her husband after an argument and interfered with his meals initially sparked concerns about her marriage, but after learning what she was really doing, people I felt relieved.

“When we fight, I gaslight my husband,” Reddit user CourageEfficient8264 said in a post on the Reddit subreddit r/TrueOffMyChest. The “True Off My Chest” subreddit invites people to “speak your mind” and “get the personal stuff off[your]chest.”

“This isn't weird. It's just funny and I want to tell people but I don't want to risk getting caught,” CourageEfficient8264 wrote in a Nov. 12 post.

In her post, CourageEfficient8264 said that she and her husband are both 30 years old and have been together for eight years. She makes him a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and takes it to work every day, as she has done for years.

“I use Welch's Grape Concord Jelly, which is important later,” she said. “Every day he tells me I make the best sandwiches, and I just say, 'Made with love.'”

But when “CourageEfficient8264” and her husband fight, “he always says he can taste the difference in his PBnJ,” she writes.

She said that when the couple fights, she tells her husband that he “made it out of hate,” when in reality he changes one of the ingredients from a regular sandwich.

“But the truth is, he can taste the hate in his sandwich, because when we fight, I use sugar-free organic grape jam,” said “CourageEfficient8264.” said.

Her organic, sugar-free grape jam “is in the back of the fridge and he never looks at it,” she says, adding, “He never gets mad at me or my anger makes the food taste bad.” “I'm using it to convince him that he can't change, 'No,'” she wrote.

In a follow-up comment to the post, CourageEfficient8264 explained that the unsweetened organic grape jam was hidden behind the coffee creamer and orange juice and that her husband didn't touch it.

She also said she doesn't make these “hated” sandwiches regularly and that her marriage is fine.
