Women giving up on marriage? Data reveals who’s happiest

Millions of young girls from the not-so-distant past dreamed endlessly about their wedding days, but American women apparently reject the system of marriage.

According to a recent article in the Wall Street Journal, “more than half of single women said they believe they are happier than their married counterparts.” In this article, in a 2024 AEI survey of 5,386 adults, more than a third of single men surveyed said the same thing.

And in a 2022 Pew survey of single adults, only 34% of single women and 54% of single men were “looking for romance.” This is down from 38% and 61% in 2019.

“What I don't understand is this perception that married people are not happy.” Stu Burguiere Comment from “Stu Does America.” “Women are really strong, men aren't that much, but in their opinion they still have it.”

The statistics reflect single women who believe that marriage leads to misfortune, but the statistics also prove that they are wrong.

According to the latest general social studies, the Family Institute found that the answer to “Who is happy?” It's very clear.

The overwhelming majority of married women with children reported that 39.5% were “very happy” and 47.6% reported that they were “very happy.” In addition, 12.9% reported that they were “not very happy.”

Only 21.5% of unmarried women without children reported being “very happy”, while 53.8% reported being “very happy”, and 24.6% reported being “not very happy.”

“I think a lot of people will convince others that marriage isn't actually awful, but not. It's actually great,” Stu says. “If you're married when you're talking to friends, don't try to scare them.”

“You're scaring them from what's probably benefiting them,” he adds.
