Women’s runner hospitalized after falling unconscious during distance race

Dutch female athlete Maureen Coster was unconsciously knocked when she collapsed in the women's 3,000m at the European indoor championships held in Apeldorn, Netherlands on Sunday.

The 32-year-old athlete was treated by medical staff and was later taken to a local hospital.

Coster was in front of Innes Fitzgerald in England and behind Hannah Nuttal when the fall happened. Nuttall was temporarily pushed out of the track, and Fitzgerald had to run around Coster.
