In a broad daylight attack in Brooklyn this week, a would-be robber hit a 24-year-old man over the head with a glass bottle after he refused to hand over cash, police said.
An unknown man approached the victim about 9 a.m. Monday a block away from her home on Ditmas Street near East 2nd Street in Kensington and demanded money, authorities and sources said.
When the victim wasn't coughing, the suspect became violent and hit her in the head with a bottle, police said.

The victim suffered cuts to his head as a result of the impact and was taken to Maimonides Medical Center, where his condition is said to be stable.
The robber, who was seen on surveillance footage walking around on the sidewalk, fled empty-handed and had not been captured by Tuesday.
Anyone with information about the perpetrators is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
