WrestleMania 42: Iyo Sky assists Rhea Ripley in claiming the WWE women's title from Jade Cargill

Rhea Ripley Reclaims WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 42

After a long journey back to the forefront of the women’s division, Rhea Ripley triumphed at WrestleMania 42 on Sunday night, reclaiming the WWE Women’s Championship.

Ripley secured her title shot by winning a Women’s Elimination Chamber match in February. She set her sights on Jade Cargill’s championship, which sparked a fierce exchange between the two top stars in professional wrestling.

Cargill made it clear that she intended to show Ripley disrespect and even managed to rally B-Fab and Mi Chin against her. Although the match was billed as a one-on-one competition, it quickly escalated to include the two additional competitors.

Throughout much of the match, Cargill held an upper hand. Just when the referee was about to remove Mi Chin and B-Fab from the equation, Iyo Sky intervened, executing a springboard moonsault on both B-Fab and Michin.

In the heat of the match, Ripley connected with a headbutt followed by her finishing move, Riptide. Still, she appeared hesitant, unsure about Cargill’s next move.

Despite receiving a kick from Cargill, Ripley countered effectively, sending Cargill into a Riptide, thus securing her victory.

With this loss, it marked the first time Cargill faced defeat at a WrestleMania since entering WWE.

Ripley now boasts her second WWE Women’s Championship title and has become a four-time Women’s Overall Champion. This latest reign began on the second night of WrestleMania 37, where she defeated Asuka in Tampa, Florida.
