WWE Chief Content Officer Paul Levesque opened the WrestleMania XL kickoff show by hyping a new era for the company, moments after which Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson slapped Cody Rhodes, solidifying two epic nights in April for everyone involved.

Throughout the first six months of this year, WWE has remained as popular as ever, and Rose’s win over Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia in April was likely just the tip of the iceberg.

WWE held “Friday Night SmackDown” at Madison Square Garden in New York last week, setting an arena record for the highest-grossing Raw or SmackDown event in the company’s history.

The July 1 “Monday Night Raw” will take place at TD Garden in Boston and is expected to continue the torrid pace the company has been on since the start of 2024. WWE has staged 92 live events to date, 84 of which have set new grossing records in its arenas and stadiums. The company has sold out 47 of them.

Viewership numbers also increased across all WWE programming. Raw was up 4% year over year, averaging 745,000 viewers in the 18-49 demographic. SmackDown was up 10% to an average of 862,000 viewers. NXT, a developing brand, averaged 252,000 viewers and saw a 28% increase in viewership.

Fans have been on edge for the past month as one major storyline unfolds and another emerges.

The Wyatt Sixx debuted in mid-June and caused mayhem at the end of one Monday Night Raw episode. The group assaulted several security guards and left Chad Gable covered in blood. The group also left a package for Michael Cole addressed to Pat McAfee. An interview with Bo Dallas and Uncle Howdy aired.

On SmackDown, a new version of the Bloodline, led by Solo Sikoa, launched a vicious attack on the wrestlers, with Sikoa, Tama Toga, Tonga Loa and Jacob Fatu leaving Rhodes, Kevin Owens, Randy Orton and Paul Heyman in the dust.

With SmackDown fans clamoring for Reigns’ return, it will be intriguing to see what the reaction is when the “Head of the Table” returns to address Cicoa.

Monday’s RAW will be the final RAW before Saturday’s Money in the Bank premium live event.

Bianca Belair appears on SmackDown
