Jacy Jayne Prepares for Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Jacy Jayne, the reigning Women’s United States Champion, is gearing up for her first Money in the Bank ladder match. Her aim? To seize the briefcase and secure a title shot. When it comes to strategy, however, she’s keeping her cards close to her chest and didn’t divulge any plans during her conversation with OutKick Dropkick.

“I definitely have a strategy. I’m not going to tell you what it is,” she said, teasing fans to tune in to find out more. “But I know all the girls in this match very, very well. I’ve been working with them for years. So, I’ve definitely been watching tape back to refresh my memory, like, this person moves like this. This person does this, let me watch out for that.”

Looking ahead, Jayne also commented on potential targets for her cash-in. At the moment, Stephanie Vaquer holds the women’s world champion title, while Chelsea Green is the WWE women’s champion. Although Green seems like the ideal opponent since they’re both on the SmackDown roster, Jayne emphasized that every competitor is fair game.

“Everyone’s a target. I want to keep everyone’s head on a swivel. I want them to not know what way I’m coming, when I’m coming. I might pretend I’m going to cash in 52 times before I actually cash in,” she explained. “I want people to be paranoid – terrified, paranoid, all of the above. I want to be the most obnoxious human being alive with this briefcase.”

It wasn’t long ago that Jayne held the NXT women’s championship. She expressed in the spring that she was ready for a call-up to the main roster. In April, she, along with Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid, debuted on SmackDown.

“When you believe in yourself, you can accomplish crazy things,” Jayne said. “You almost fake it ‘til you make it in a way. I knew I was ready. There were times in the past that I was like, ‘I’m ready, I’m ready,’ but I wasn’t ready. This time, I really knew I was ready and when I got that opportunity, I was not going to lighten up.”

Recently, she won the women’s U.S. title against Tiffany Stratton and later celebrated as her Fatal Influence stablemates also clinched tag team titles. “I felt like a proud mom watching her win the title,” she said, especially referring to Lainey Reid, who is relatively new to wrestling. “I feel like I’ve seen them also struggle and doubt themselves. Everyone has their ups and downs; it’s inevitable. So, when you see people that you care about get to the next level and win, it’s very special and I’m glad to be a part of it.”

On Saturday, Jayne will take part in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. She will face off against competitors like Sol Ruca, Lola Vice, Roxanne Perez, Lash Legend, and Tiffany Stratton for the chance to become an immediate contender for the world title.

The highly anticipated event is scheduled for Saturday at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, starting at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN Unlimited.
