Wyndham Clark’s Frustration at the US Open

Wyndham Clark’s dissatisfaction after missing the cut at the 2025 US Open was palpable in the locker room. He, along with other top golfers, faced a tough day at the Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania.

The renowned obstacles of the course prompted Clark to express his frustration at the lockers. It’s not uncommon for the pressures of such a prestigious event to build up, and on Thursday, the 2023 US Open Champion seemed to be grappling with his emotions.

“I’ve had my share of highs and lows this year, and, well, I think I’ve really regretted some of those lows,” he shared. “But I want to concentrate on what lies ahead for the rest of the season, not just for myself but also for Oakmont and the USGA.”

Recently, social media showcased photos of damaged locker doors, stirring up discussions surrounding the tournament’s intensity. JJ Spaun, this year’s winner, managed to finish the tournament with a score of 1 under par, a feat that no other competitor could match by the end of the 72 holes.

Despite the challenges, Clark has enjoyed some memorable moments throughout his career. However, the past nine months have been, let’s say, disappointing for him. At 31 years old, he’s found himself with only one top-10 finish and has slipped to 27th place in the world golf rankings.

Clark did manage to perform well in the opening round of the Travelers Championship, finishing with a score of 64. It’s a clear indication that while frustrations might linger, there’s still room for improvement.
