X flags NPR story on Trump, Arlington as unsafe

Social media platform “X” flagged an NPR article outlining the aftermath of a clash earlier this week between Trump campaign staff and Arlington National Cemetery officials as potentially “dangerous.”

President Trump visited the cemetery on Monday to mark the first anniversary of the Kabul airport attack that killed 13 U.S. troops during their withdrawal from Afghanistan. His campaign disputed NPR's reporting on the incident, denying there was any physical confrontation “as has been reported.”

The Army defended the cemetery officials after the incident, saying they were only trying to enforce rules banning political activity on cemetery grounds, but were reportedly pushed aside.

Users who tried to view the article via the link on Thursday X were blocked by the platform. caveat A page that says “This may not be safe”

However, the page gives users the option to ignore the warning and continue reading the article.

NPR has long been a target of criticism from Republicans and other conservatives, and the public broadcaster recently faced internal turmoil and external backlash after a top editor publicly criticized its editorial policy and accused it of left-leaning bias.

The outlet stopped publishing stories about X last year after billionaire tycoon Elon Musk bought the company a few months ago.
