Yale University this week revoked the status of a registered pro-Palestinian student group, protesting Israel, saying it “severely violated the rules,” and establishing a rogue camp to stop Jewish students from crossing.
Yalies4 – Students in the Yale Palestine (SJP) chapter of Palestine brought others together to participate in the social media blockade, the university said in a statement. SJP, where Hamas described the attack on Israel on October 7 as “a historic victory for Palestinian resistance.”“ Last year, it was vetted due to suspected ties with Hamas.
The Institute for Research on Global Anti-Semitism and Policy (ISGAP) released a report last year claiming that the SJP received funding related to an organization accused of supporting Hamas. The report also alleged that the SJP approved violence against Israelis and cooperated with terrorist groups. It also claims that a federal lawsuit has been filed against SJP and its affiliate, the American Muslims in Palestinian (AMP), acting as Hamas collaborators and propagandists.

Lawmakers are also skeptical of the group. In 2023, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis directed the state university to dissolve the SJP chapter, claiming the organization illegally supported Hamas.
“Concerns have been raised about preventing anti-Semitism at the rally,” Yale’s statement said. “The university is investigating these concerns because harassment and discrimination are conflicting with learning and scholarships. Yale condemns anti-Semitism and retains people who violate our policies through the disciplinary process.”
The university added that it supports “free expression on campus” that complies with the school’s “time, place and manners rules.”
A group of students posted a video of the demonstration Instagram account, and Videos posted on x They tied their arms together to show a group that blocked Jewish students from passing through the area.

The disciplinary action comes almost a year after anti-Israel protests broke out across Ivy League campuses, and Yale is one of the universities with major confusion and arrests, including a massive graduation walkout. During the 2024 pro-Palestinian protests, Yale University was Peter Saroby. Maurie McInnis took over him on June 30th.
Yale claims that disciplinary action against students was required this week and that it maintained a “calm campus.”
The removal of the official status of student groups comes just months after President Donald Trump concluded his anti-Semitism on university campuses. In January, Trump reported on actions taken to address anti-Semitism in public education and signed an executive order directing federal agencies to analyze complaints related to campus anti-Semitism following the October 7 attack.

But not all schools are in line with Trump’s order. Harvard University announced this week a lawsuit against the Trump administration that would freeze billions of dollars in research funding for Ivy League schools.
The complaint argues that the administration cannot create a “rational connection” between anti-Semitism on campus and the federal funds it receives.
