Tampa – During the second straight spring, Gerrit Cole detours to Los Angeles with an elbow hanging in balance.
The Yankees ace will make a face-to-face visit with Dr. Neil Ellatrasch in California on Monday, sources said he will determine whether his precious right elbow would require Tommy John's surgery.
Cole went on the same trip to a prominent surgeon last March. He sighed at ease as he diagnosed his elbow nerve inflammation and edema and wanted rest.
There are even more concerns this year, and the surgery may be clear. Cole said, before the same elbow grows “surprisingly” after Cole began two grapefruits.

Right was knocked on Thursday while out, feeling his elbow gradually hurt, knowing “something's not right.”
