Roki Sasaki will not be in the Bronx this season.
The Yankees have been told not to sign the 23-year-old Japanese right-hander, the Post confirmed.
The news was first reported by YES Network.
The Yankees were in the group of teams to meet with the free agent, along with the Mets, Dodgers, Padres, Cubs, Rangers and Giants, but the Giants are also said to be out of consideration.
The Athletic reported on Monday that Sasaki also met with the Blue Jays.

The hard-throwing Sasaki is classified by MLB as an international amateur because he is not yet 25 years old, so teams are limited to what they can offer him in the international bonus pool.
“He's obviously a great talent,” Yankees GM Brian Cashman said of Sasaki, who he watched pitch in Japan last month. “It would be great for Yankee Stadium to be his home, but the decision is up to him. All we can do is share everything we can about ourselves and what we offer.”
Without Sasaki, the Yankees will have a rotation of Gerrit Cole, Max Fried, Carlos Rodon, Clark Schmidt and Lewis Gil, and Marcus Stroman is owed $18 million this season.
