There was some hostility between fans in the upper levels of Citi Field during the Subway Series.
When the Yankees played the Mets this week, one fan uploaded a video to TikTok of an uncomfortable exchange between a couple of fans, where a young Yankees fan wearing an Aaron Judge jersey was standing in the front row of the bleachers while another fan felt the boy was more of a door than a window.
“Stand back!” the angry adult shouted in the child’s direction.

When there was no immediate movement, the man yelled, “Umpire, please sit down. I can’t see home base.”
At that moment, a man, presumably someone with some connection to the boy, turned around and said, “Shut up!”
The man continued to complain, “You have to see right through him! You can’t see home plate!”
His father turned and yelled, “Grow up!”
“Grow up? Why not? Teach your kids properly,” replied the man who couldn’t see home plate. “Don’t yell at them. Tell them to sit down.”
The man who was upset about his blocked view was sitting next to a boy who was also wearing a Judge jersey, so this was likely a Yankees fan civil war.
The Mets won both meetings of the two-game series, winning 9-7 on Tuesday and 12-2 on Wednesday.
The Yankees are 52-30 and hold a one-game lead over the Orioles in the AL East.
The Mets are 39-39 and 13 games behind the Phillies in the National League East, making them unlikely to overtake, but they’re just 1.5 games behind the Cardinals and Phillies in the race for the National League Wild Card.
