A fan put on an impressive display of skill after Rafael Devers hit the first of his two home runs during the Red Sox-Yankees game in the Bronx on Sunday night.
When Devers broke a scoreless tie in the top of the seventh, fans mustered enough force to send the ball flying onto the pitcher’s mound, and ESPN cameras cut to the footage before the ball had even bounced off the ground.
When you consider where the throw came from (left field), it becomes even more impressive since there is no way it could have come from the way the crow flies.
These fans fared better than the Yankees, who dropped the series again, finishing 6-16 in their last 22 games and 1-5 on their homestand.
The Yankees finish the first half of the season with a six-game road trip that begins against the Rays on Tuesday before heading to Baltimore next weekend for what promises to be a huge series.
The Orioles are three games behind the Yankees for the first wild card spot in the AL.
