Yankees’ Aaron Judge Likely to Miss Remaining Regular Season

As the New York Yankees strive for a spot in October baseball, it appears that their star slugger, Aaron Judge, is set to miss a significant portion of the remaining regular season. The team announced on Friday that it intends to place Judge on the 10-day injured list due to a right calf strain. This decision can be backdated to Thursday, potentially allowing Judge to return for the Yankees’ last game of the regular season on September 27.

Judge, who has played only 66 games this season, contrasts sharply with his performance in previous years, where he played over 150 games consistently and won the American League MVP awards in both 2024 and 2025.

The 34-year-old last took to the field on Wednesday during the Yankees’ series finale against the Minnesota Twins. He was pulled from the game in the sixth inning because of discomfort in his leg, although he stated afterward that this was merely a precaution.

Since returning just last week from a broken rib that had sidelined him for over three months, Judge has recorded only one extra-base hit in his seven games back.

The Yankees, who began their latest road trip on Friday night facing the Arizona Diamondbacks in Phoenix, find themselves five games behind the AL East-leading Tampa Bay Rays. Both teams have already secured their postseason spots.
