You CAN reverse heart disease— and Dr. Pam Popper knows how

Dr. Pam Popper is an internationally recognized expert on nutrition, medicine and health, and the founder and executive director of Wellness Forum Health.

And she has good news for people suffering from heart disease: the disease is improving.

Popper's colleague, Caldwell Esselstyn, is conducting the longest longitudinal study of coronary artery disease, which has been running for 38 years.

“This guy has followed his patients, and he has not had a patient die from cardiovascular disease who has been on his diet — a low-fat, high-fiber, plant-based diet,” Popper told Liz Wheeler on “The Liz Wheeler Show.”

Popper and her respected colleagues featured in the documentary Forks Over Knives believe that diets like ketogenic or carnivore diets don't produce similar results, despite glowing recommendations on social media.

“They're saying, 'Well, my patients have had this happen, and that happen,'” Popper scoffed, adding: “That's not scientific research at all.”

But she points out that doctors generally aren't trained to suggest a solution, which she believes is a plant-based diet.

“They are employed by big pharmaceutical companies and work for the institutions,” she explains.
